Minnesota jail allowed only white police officers to guard George Floyd murderer “Derek Chauvin”.
Ex-police officer Derek Chauvin continues to make headlines while still being locked up in prison after killing George Floyd. However, this time, eight officers of color assigned to the Ramsey County Adult Detention Center in St. Paul have filed a discrimination complaint after they alleged that they were blocked from guarding him.
Recent reports from ABC News, suggests that the eight officers filed a complaint to the Minnesota Department of Human Rights and said that based on the color of their skin a decision was made to segregate them and keep them away from George Floyd’s killer “Derek Chauvin,” and the entire floor that he was being kept on at the jail.
In a statement from the complaint, it reads the following:
“I am not aware of a similar situation where white officers were segregated from an inmate.”
