The U.S. Marine Corps Removes All Public Displays Of The Confederate Flag From It’s Bases – George Floyd

The U.S. Marine Corps Has Officially Ordered That All Public Displays Of Confederate Flag Be Removed From It’s Bases – George Floyd.

USA Today reports that The United States Marine Corps announced recently that it is banning public display of the confederate flag. The U.S. Marine Corps is the first military branch make this change.

This new order directs Marine Corps commanders to find and remove displays of the flag in “work places, common-access areas, and public areas” on base. “The Confederate battle flag has all too often been co-opted by violent extremist and racist groups whose divisive beliefs have no place in our Corps,” according to a notice posted by the U.S. Marines on its Twitter account.

Exceptions to the order include state flags that include the Confederate flag and Confederate soldiers’ gravesites. Individual barracks, living quarters and private vehicles will not be inspected.
