British Columbia female police officer drags woman down hallway and steps on her head.
A disturbing video has been released as part of a civil lawsuit, which reveals a Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer in Kelowna, British Columbia dragging a female nursing student down a hallway following a wellness check at her apartment. Disturbingly, the police officer is seen stepping on her head. ⠀
Mona Wang, a student at the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan campus in Kelowna, filed a lawsuit on March 23rd. Mona Wang is suing for physical and emotional abuse at the hands of RCMP Cpl. Lacy Browning. In addition, RCMP has launched a code of conduct investigation and a criminal investigation into the incident. Browning has since been placed on administrative duties according to a police spokesperson.
In the notice of claim, Wang says she was experiencing mental distress on the evening of Jan. 20, 2020, and her boyfriend called the RCMP requesting a wellness check.
The lawsuit says Lacy Browning found Wang lying on her apartment’s bathroom floor and did not provide medical assistance.
This court ordered the apartment building where Wang lived at the time of the incident provide surveillance video of the incident.
Mona Wang’s lawyer Michael Patterson provided the video to CBC News.
