Rapper Hurricane Chris arrested for second-degree murder in Shreveport, Louisiana




According to reports circulating, rapper Hurricane Chris was recently arrested for second-degree murder in Shreveport, Louisiana

Rap artist Hurricane Chris whose real name is Christopher Dooley Jr., is known for the hit single “A Bay Bay”. The rapper, was arrested early Friday on one count each of second-degree murder and illegal possession of stolen things, Shreveport Police said in a news release.

Christopher, 31, was being held without bond at Shreveport city jail. Online jail records did not indicate if he had an attorney who could speak on his behalf as at the time of this report.

Police responded shortly after 1 a.m. on Friday to a report on a shooting at a gas station in Shreveport, Louisiana. Officers found one person suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Christopher Dooley Jr, who had gone into the gas station’s store, initially told police that he had shot a man in self defence who he thought was trying to steal his car. But the reality is that the video footage appears to show a different story, police gave a statement saying that the car Christopher was in had also been reported stolen from Texas.

Christopher, who is the godson of former Democratic state Rep. Barbara Norton, became a house hold name after his 2007 album “51/50 Ratchet,” that includes his hit single till-date, titled: “A Bay Bay.” The music video for “A Bay Bay” has nearly 30 million view hits on the popular video sharing platform “YouTube”.
